near Plant Line and took on 34 tons coal and
6,500 gallons of water.
Laid at dock all night.
Day fine and clear.
Night stormy and much rain.
Thursday, October 25, 1900
Found leak in exhaust pipe and lost half a day repairing it.
2:15 a.m. - Left pier with Pilot Flemming
3:00 a.m. - Pilot left us
3:20 a.m. - Devil’s Island
7:25 a.m. - Egg Island. Course E/ by S
11:10 a.m. - Beaver Island.
Captain, Mate and Pilot all full when we left Halifax,
but they were able to handle the ship without mishap.

6:00 a.m. - Course E by N.
Day comes in fine and clear.
Strong breeze from west.
Course E 1-4 S.
Daylight same.
11:20 a.m. - Canso Whisteling buoy abeam -
